Hi there!
Jonathan Malek was born into a family of artists and craftspeople in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
After completing a business degree at the University of Pittsburgh, Jon began a career in higher education. But he never lost his zest for creative projects. He purchased his first DSLR camera and fell in love with capturing the world through a lens.
Jon is inspired by travel and nature. Most photos seen in his portfolio were taken while traveling, hiking, camping, and exploring new places with friends and family.
Jon lives in the Morningside neighborhood of Pittsburgh with his wife and two pet rabbits (the adventures of @pghlops can be followed on Instagram). Outside of photography, Jon spends his days working on his labor-of-love 1920 home, visiting national parks, experimenting with new pizza recipes, reclaiming junk into furniture, watching Pittsburgh sports, and collecting as many house plants as possible.
